Grief and Bereavement
Almost everyone will experience grief and loss in their lifetime and while there are no absolute stages of grief and no single way to mourn, every person has a unique experience and response to their loss. We experience loss in many ways – through sudden, unexpected death, miscarriage, infant loss, job loss, the ending of a relationship or through chronic illness, aging, life transitions, end of life planning and anticipating the death of a loved one.
Trauma
Trauma happens when an event occurs that leaves you temporarily overwhelmed or emotionally distressed. Some people are diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Trauma therapy is a form of therapy that can help an individual deal with the emotional response that happens following a traumatic event. Not everyone who experiences a trauma will have long-term negative consequences, but trauma can affect your mental health, your job, your finances and how you connect and relate to others.
